"I Made Myself Gardens and Orchards"

The amorphous landscapes, populated by enormous rocks, some translucent, some opaque, create the special atmosphere found in Ora Abrahami's paintings. The sight of boundless space inspires a mystical sensation, leading the viewer on into unknown, unthreatening places.

The artist's source of inspiration stems from her study of the Kabbala and her strong affinity for mystical concepts and foundations. Her work evolves in ever-expanding and ever-changing circles, which she re-evaluates in different periods and situations, infusing them with new meanings.

The eight large canvases displayed in this exhibition focus on the concepts of creation and formation, revealed as a process of metamorphosis seen in growth and blossoming. These basic principles take on new dimensions in each individual work, each with its own interpretative depth and metaphysical significance.

The essence of her creation finds expression in the special techniques which the artist has developed in order to create an experience in colour in which a dialogue takes place between complementary colours and richly varied, sensual textures. Colour is a central feature in her works, and it serves to enrich her ideas dramatically and with powerful expressiveness.

The vertical line, which rises and pulls upwards, creates a tension in her works between the colourful textures and the vertical composition. This dominant vertical line, constantly moving, from bottom to top, suggests the transition from the physical to the spiritual world, and vice-versa.

These abstract ideas, transformed into works of art, become tangible expressions of the vibrant motion of growth and blossoming.

The artistic values pervading Ora Abrahami's work support and enrich the complex subject matter which she has chosen to deal with and allow her to identify her own personal, unique style.

At the same time her works possess timeless, universal qualities, inspiring a mystical atmosphere, encompassing all, and crossing the borders between peoples and nations.
